Lee Hill Lee Hill is Founding Partner of SILENT, a worldwide provider of design, troubleshooting and training services for the control of electrical noise since 1992. He holds an MSEE from the University of Missouri-Rolla. Lee consults and teaches worldwide, and has presented classes in Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea, Norway, United Kingdom, Mexico, Canada, and the United States. He is also a regular EMC course instructor for Oxford University (England), University of California-Berkeley Extension, General Motors University, and Freescale Semiconductor. Lee is a recent member of the IEEE EMC Society’s Board of Directors (2005-2007). He served as Chairman of the IEEE EMC Society’s Distinguished Lecturer Program from 1999 through 2006.

Randal Vaughn Randal Vaughn of SILENT will present a number of demonstrations of electromagnetic shielding applications for electronic product design. Each demonstration will be accompanied by a discussion of the underlying math and physics, as well as some commonly-held engineering assumptions. The demonstrations will include cavity resonances in simple product enclosures, imperfect cable shield terminations, pitfalls of common retrofit techniques, and the characterization of the intrinsic shielding performance of materials.

Garth D'Abreu Garth D’Abreu, as Technical Manager, has primary responsibility for the design and development functions within the RF engineering group. The RF group provides technical support for ETS-Lindgren worldwide and is responsible for anechoic chambers, E Field generators, TEM cell device design and development, antenna design and absorber development. Mr. D’Abreu is the lead engineer for reverberation chamber design and testing and is responsible for the development and support of the immunity and emission chamber control software. He is also responsible for the development of GTEM cells and other test boxes within the RF group and provides technical support to the RF filter, mechanical and project engineering divisions, especially for projects related to EMP systems and special applications.

Vic Hudson Vic Hudson has worked as a Project Manager for Rohde&Schwarz for 7 years and has been involved in EMC for nearly 12 years.
